Having survived a horrific tragedy and overcome a hard start to life, Katie McGrath hopes that her recent move to the small Tennessee town of Borden's Gap will allow her to make her dreams a reality. Katie is a devoted teacher, who feels that her heart and home are in the classroom, so hopefully the move will provide the safety and healing she needs. Sam Youngblood, the town's sheriff, has also needed healing, but he and his twin daughters find themselves delighted by their new neighbor. Sam and Katie have instant chemistry and might just be able to find what they are looking for in each other and create a fresh start together. This book is full of heart, with memorable neighbors, new friends, and newfound joys. VERDICT This charming and emotional stand-alone story from Sala (The Best of Me) is recommended for readers who appreciate contemporary romances with small-town Southern settings.--Bridgette Whitt
